I made several of these Mother’s Day cards - there are four (yes, 4!) moms between DH and myself. What that really mean is that my DD has four sets of grandparents who spoil her rotten
On Sunday, DD and I met my mom for lunch halfway between our house and hers. We had a great time! Afterwards, DD and I decided to drive right on past our house and on to see DH at work. He actually closed his store early due to inclement weather, so we waited out te crazy thunderstorms with him, safely inside the building. The three of us went out for Mexican for dinner, and then came home to watch some always-thrilling Thomas the Tank Engine action.
My colors cam from last week’s Color Combo Challenge. They were such springy colors! The card is super simple, as I made four while DD was eating dinner one night. I one-sheet-wondered (stamped all over one sheet, and cut it into pieces) the “background”, using Baroque Motifs. I stamped the sentiment form All Year Cheer on my scalloped oval, sponged the edges, paper pierced them, and highlighted the holes with a silver gel pen.
Each card had a different ribbon treatment, but I did use the Certainly Celery grosgrain on all of them. I’ll add more specific details later!! Have a wonderful day!

This card is for DD’s daycare teachers - I made one for each of them. Well, technically she has one teacher, ans an afternoon helper, but the other teachers and the director just dote on her. So I thought that they deserved a card for Mother’s Day, too - because they watch out for my munchkin when I cannot.
I used Funky Florals, from LAD. My color schem is Wild Wasabi, YoY Yellow, and Whisper White. It’s a pretty simple card, because I had to make 6 of them last night and didn’t start until 9:00. My goal was clean and simple — how’d I do?
I have to hurry to get ready for work, so I will edit this post later and add more details

This is a card I made awhile ago, and never did post here. It was for a Color Combo Challenge on SCS several weeks ago.
I’ve never told you this, but I have a huge thing for pigs - I love ‘em. They are so cute! This little pig is named Blox, and he is part of Doodle Factory’s Animal set. You can see the rest of the set here, at StarvingArtistamps. They can be purchased individually, or if you are a sucker like me, buy the whole sheet so you get the large animals and the small ones!
I stamped them using Basic Gray on textured watercolor paper. They are colored with an aquapainter, using Groovy Guava for the body, Blush Blossom for the nose, and Ruby Red for the tongue. I used my round tab punch, paired with the saying from SU’s Very Punny, for the tag. It is hard to tell, but I dtp’d some Groovy Guava ink on it. The pic is not as great as I would like, but at least it is something!
I am still without my camera - DH forgot to bring it home last night and he is not working today. SO hopefully I’ll get it tomorrow night. I’m having withdrawals!

I took my camera with us for a family day on Saturday, and left it right on DH’s desk, in his office. 45 minutes from home. And we were halfway home before I realized it :(. So I won’t have any pictures to upload until Wednesday, because he did not work yesterday or today. Sorry!!!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend - we sure did. We went to an outdoor festival and the weather was glorious. Yesterday we just relaxed, did some spring cleaning, and cooked dinner as a family. I love those moments!

DH asked for a birthday card for someone he works with, so I came up with this one last night. Although it is a fairly simple card, it took me all night long! I kept stopping to watch our Thursday night shows - My Name is Earl, Scrubs, The Office, 30 Rock, and Lost. It’s a big TV night around here, lol.
I used the recent SAB set Birthday Whimsy. I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment repeatedly on the Whisper White using Basic Gray ink to create a background, and then stamped three balloons (also on Whisper White) and cut them out. The River Rock and Regal Rose balloons are mounted on one dimensional, the Pretty in Pink one (center) is mounted on two. I tied linen string around each balloon, and gathered it behind some gray satin ribbon that I tied through two jumbo eyelets.
The dp is from Basic Grey - I used two different, complimentary patterns. Other cardstock colors used were River Rock (base), Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, and Basic Gray (as a mat for the dp). Just behind the card you can see the Whisper White envelope, which I stamped the cake on (using Regal Rose ink). I know the picture isn’t terribly fabulous, but it was 11:30 and all I wanted to do was get in bed!!!
DH did call me today to say that the person he gave it to really liked it, which makes me happy.

I found the time to make a card after DD went to bed - how exciting! This one is for the Try a New Technique Challenge this week, which is a Two Way Open Card. Beth posted some awesome directions, so be sure to check it out.
I was in a mellow mood when I stamped this - it was a really awful weather day here, complete with torrential thunderstorms and tornadoes sighted in the area. Somehow, a bright card just seemed wrong tonight, kwim? So I went for an aged, softer look.
I shrunk my card 1/4″ on all the measurements, so it would fit into the envelopes I have here at home. I sponged everything to death on this card using Creamy Caramel ink. I stamped on the dp (Fancy Pants) with the French Script BG and Close to Cocoa ink. My image is from the Provencal set. The image is larger than the panel I had cut, so I inked it up and laid the cs down on the stamp - I like the way it fills up the whole piece of Naturals Ivory cs. I distressed the edges with my fingernail (yes, I was too lazy to get up and grab my distresser tool).
On the inner panel I added two primas with a large brad. I love the element of surpsie they add - you can’t see them at all when the card is closed! I added a piece of hodgepodge hardware in the corner to keep the card closed, and considered it finished. I do need to spend some time with DH!!

Sorry about the terrible picture - my allergies are so bad I can barely see the camera anyway! I just hate pollen season :( I knew it would catch up to me eventually. And for some odd reason, I don’t think DH likes me with tissues stuffed up my nose, lol. So I spent most of Sunday semi-reclined on the couch, trying to get some rest.
I needed a few quickie thank you cards, so this is one I whipped up. The base is Sage Shadow, the large panel is Groovy Guava stamped tone-on-tone with the retired Harlequin background stamp. I used Prima dp, from their Lucid collection, for my accent panels. It is double sided paper, which makes for easy coordinating! I handstitched around the edges of each panel with dark brown and creme thread, and added some die cut photo corners to it. I used the SAB So Many Scallops set, and punched it with my scalloped circle punch. I punched another scalloped circle out of Groovy Guava cardstock and put it behind the stamped image, and sewed a button in the middle. I finished the whole thing off with some guava organdy ribbon (what a great RAK that was!).
Have a great day, and I hope it isn’t pollen season at your house, too!
