What’s your New Year Resolution?  Make a card reflecting your Resolution.  If you don’t have one , how about using some neglected stamps, paper, embellishments, etc…  That is a New Year Resolution ANY stamper can relate to!!!

Let me share with you how my card reflects several of my New Year’s Resolutions. One of them is to be greener, in every way – save money (it’s green, lol), cut back, waste less, do more for the environment.  So that is whaere the green comes in, and the bird. Also reflecting this resolution is that my card is simple – because I think by cutting back and being greener, we can live more simply, and that is what I strive  to do. It’s also why I chose the color Blush Blossom to go with my Basic Grey Gypsy dp – to walk softly will leave a less noticeable footprint.  Another one of my resolutions is to really *be* present for the small moments – don’t miss them, don’t ignore them, and don’t let them escape me. So that is where the sentiment comes in. I did have to add the dew drops, because I think you can still enjoy the little things even while doing all of the other things I’d like to accomplish 🙂 So, I hope everyone likes my sweet and simple little card – I’m a pretty big fan of it!

Don’t forget that someone has blog candy – so go look for it!

Here he is, ready to ring in the new year, all shimmered up! Can I just say that I *love* this little panda by Prima Stamps? I mean really – don’t you just want to hug him? This is my second card for the Jacksonbelle Challenges. Ready for the details about it?

Challenge #2 ~ 5pm (EST) SCS Keyword ~ JBENYE2
When I think of New Years Eve Celebrations, I tend to think of the colors Black, White or Vanilla and some SHINY accents or paper (metallic, glitter).  Make a card using these colors ~ ANY theme!

Soooo…..shiny I went! I used a black card base, and a piece of copper cardstock as my largest panel. Then I busted out some Webster’s Pages dp I’ve been hoarding. It is hard to tell in the pic, but I outlined all of the flowers with my Spica glitter pen – so there is some *serious* sparkle! I took a rust colored Prima flower and painted it with Pumpkin Shimmerz. To keep up with the bling, I added a sparkly black brad in the middle of the Prima. Under the sentiment – an Imaginisice stamp – I again used my glitter pen to draw little dots, and added some to the tips of the word. I also drew over the flourishes on the panda!

Be sure to check the other girls’ blogs for some more fabulous and shiny creations!

Challenge #1 ~ 3pm (EST) SCS Keyword ~ JBENYE1
For our first challenge we are asking you to “RING” in the New Year!!  Keyword here ~ RING!!!  Use your creativeness (is that a word??) and make a card that has a “ring” to it!! LOL!!!  Ideas ~ Wedding card (rings ~ get it!?!?!), circles, a bell, Kids (ring around the Rosie), diamonds (either the shape OR the bling!!!), etc…

Let me tell you a bit about Lucky Ellie over here – she is a Prima Clear Stamp – and isn’t she adorable???  I started with a card base that is 5.5″ square, in Basic Black. I addd a layer of Very Vanilla, and then some beautiful Crate Paper from their Avenue Collection – this piece is called Glam -, which I bought at Jacksonbelle’s store. For my “rings” I did several things – I got out my circle nesties, and used the flip side of the dp to get a scallepd circle, and then I used a classic nestie for the vanilla circle. I stamped Ellie and the sentiment in Versafine Black Ink. I restamped her on another piece of Very Vanilla and painted her with Shimerz Blingz in December Sky. Before I popped her up o ndimensionals, I hung a little decorative bell around her trunk, so she could ring in the New Year, too!

Be sure to visit the other girls, to find out who has blog candy and see the awesome ways they are ringing in the New Year!

pps_tasseltub_tbuThis week’s Pink Papery Studio’s challenge:

MIX IT UP!
Our challenge this week comes from Shelly and is the “Mix It Up!” challenge.  She wants us to use up the scraps that we all have!  Create a card using at least 2 OR MORE decorative paper scraps!

So to my scrap bin I went. And it is HUGE, lol. I was lucky enough to find two dp’s that were both triangles, and happened to be the right size I need – woohoo! I adhered them to my River Rock panel, and then handstitched up the middle with pink thread. At the top, on my sentiment, I used my cropadile to set teh eyelet and then threaded the tasssel through. I LOVE IT!! Looks just like where the showerhead should be! Over on the right side, I added some hot pink Dew Drops. And ro put a little more zing on this one, I added Crystal Effects to the bubbles and the water on the floor. My image is colored with Copic markers, and the tub is purple becuase my three year old said it should be!

Don’t forget to use the links on the right of my blog to checkout the other DT members’ creations!

Also be sure to check back later today — I’ll have more posts and some challenges for you!!!

Another Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesday!

lps_mttsc3_tbu I just did a quick card for Madelynn’s sketch this week – thankfully she went easy on us with a simple sketch!!! I appreciate it sweetie!!!! I used more paper from the pack my Dad gave me for Christmas, and I like the busy-baroque look of it. So I tried to make my image panel blend in with it. I used the Friends set from {Little Paper Shop}. My inks are Pearlescent Poppy and Coffee Bean, both by Brilliance. My cardstock colors are Rose Red and Whisper White, with dp by Me & My Big Ideas. I added some ribbon and a prima, and was all done with this one!

I hope she likes it 🙂

My First Little Paper Shop Monday!

lps_softowl_tbuEvery Monday, the super talented ladies on the Little Paper Shop DT post a card on their blog. I’m so excited, because this is my first Monday to participate! I made this little cutie with my Friday Limited Supplies Challenge on Splitcoast in mind – no holiday stuff anywhere in sight, lol. I used the set Flyin’ By from Little Paper Shop to make a sweet yet masculine (despite the flower, lol) card for my husband, who has been tremendously supportive of me lately. I don’t tell him enough how grateful I am that I know I can lean on him when I need to, and that means the world to me. So — I love you Skip!!

My card base is Sahara Sand, and my next panel is Soft Sky. The dp – don’t fall out when I tell you this – is by Me & My Big Ideas. The shocking part of that statement is that my DAD picked it out for me for Christmas! Went to Michael’s all by himslef and did it – I’m so proud!!! I used Nesties to cut out my squares, Dew Drops at the bottom, and tied a bit of ribbon on just for fun. I put the darker prima on top – so that keeps it man-ish, right???
