Blue Snow

lad_bluesnow_tbuI love love love the combo of blue and silver for the holidays! This was a super simple card to make – and I also love love love super simple for holiday cards!

This really is a simple Holiday card using Christmas in the City from Lizzie Anne Designs. I love the “blue snowflake” theme! So I stamped them in Buckaroo Blue and Bordering Blue, and used platinum liquid pearls to center all of them. Then I stamped the sentiment in Encore Silver, layered it on a larger oval, and dotted that larger oval with liquid pearls again. The largest panel is on dimensionals, as are the ovals.

Also, Lizzie Anne has put their retiring sets on sale, at 40% off!!! Wow!!!!! Click here to check them out!

Stamps: LAD, Christmas in the City
Paper: Buckaroo Blue, Bordering Blue, Whispering White

Certainly Crowned

qkd_certainlycrwoned_tbuI love this layout. It started out as something completely different, and totally went it’s own way until it ended up like this. That happens to me quite often – but it is really fantastic when I *love* how it turns out!

The color scheme for this card came from a color combo challenge on Splitcoast. I used stamps from Queen Kat Designs – the crown is a single called King’s Crown (and I believe it is available as of Dec. 1st) and the sentiment is from a set called Crowning Moments. It is retired, and not available any more – bummer, I know. I love the size of the sentiment!

I went a little nuts with the white gel pen, but I love the end result! I started out just putting them on the small blue panel, and I just kind of didn’t stop!

Stamps: QKD King’s Crown, Crowning Moments
Paper: Basic Gray, Pacific Point, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Basic Grey dp
Ink: Craft Certainly Celery

Falling Leaves

lad_fallingleaves_tbuI adore this simple little card. I love the colors, I love the white space (well, I guess technically it is cream space, lol), and I love the little birdie in the tree.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone. I am thankful for all of you who stop by and read my blog, who are patient with me when my life is chaotic, and who keep coming back to share more creativity. And to my friends and readers who do not celebrate Thanksgiving – have a wonderful day, and know that I am still thankful for you, too!

Happy Birthday, Queen Kat Designs!! (and a blog hop)

qkd_tangerinehappenin_tbuToday is QKD’s birthday! How fun is that? I love birthdays – they are like your very own personal holiday, lol.

I’m traveling today, so I can’t be at my computer to play. Or in my stamp room, for that matter. Which kind of bums me out, lol.  Anyway, please be sure to check out all of the QKD Royal Stamping Maids’ blogs, as well as the other super talented ladies on the QKD team – everyone has something special and fun planned all day long!

This fun little card is a long one (duh). I used the QKD set What’s Happenin’, and the sketch and color scheme from the most recent QKD newsletter. AND, I colored my monkeys with Copics – my first ones! I am totally in love with QKD stamps – the designs are so fun!! They totally have a stamp for every mood and idea you can think of. I’ve never been a fan of acrylics UNTIL I got my hands on these stamps – and now I already have a ton of them!

Ok, so here’s the deal: the QKD ladies are blog hopping today! Look here for the schedule. And because I’m lazy, I am borrowing this from Queen Kat’s blog:

You will have until midnight PST tonight to enter all games/questions.. and you will have until midnight PST on November 21st to enter all creative challenges that you actually have to make something for.

All winners will be announced at the QKD blog on November 22nd. Winners will have until November 26th to claim their prizes.

So, hop over to the other blogs, answer their questions or make a card for their challenge, and be entered to win! What fun! Oh, and I suppose I should go ahead and give you my question, lol.

Chocolate Gold Kisses

I am sorry for my recent absence from my blog. I got a rather bad case of bronchitis/sinusitis/yucks, and then work went a bit nuts on me. So I was so drained I didn’t do any stamping! I’m back now, though – a bit rusty but I’m working on it 🙂

Would you believe it if I told you I’d never altered a Starbucks bottle? Well, I haven’t! I whipped up this super simple on as a “thanks, I think you are great ” gift for my boss. He got me a terrific birthday present (fab electric kettle) so a simple cad just wouldn’t do! As usual, it was hard fo for me to go masculine…but he seemed to like it, lol.

I am obsessed with the Kraft/brown combo – I think I would use it on every card if I could. And thank goodness it was perfect for this bottle! To adhere the Kraft cardstock, I used a can (well, not actually the whole can!) of spray adhesive. I left the lid alone, other than punching a circle out and stamping the leaf from this set on it (and adding dots to it around the edges).

I filled it with Hershey’s Kisses with Almonds, and there it was – a gift for a guy!

Stamps: LAD In the Treetop
Paper: Kraft
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel
Accessories: ribbon, circle punch, spray adhesive
