Please join me at the new home for my blog, over on Blogger! For those of you that subscribe to me via email, I think there is the same option over at Blogger – you’ll just have to change it up a little bit! Sorry for any inconvenience!
She is colored with Copics, and then I painted Shimmerz on her top and he tail. So she is quite sparkly in real life!
I didn’t do much else, except use little bubble self adhesive thingies in the corner. I had some random dp that reminded me of the ocean, so I used that. My card base is River Rock, and my matting layer is Blue Bayou.
Head over to the Instyle Stamps blog for all of the details on our challenge, what the prize is for playing along, and how you can get in on the action! Also visit the blogs of the other Design Divas – their links are on the right sidebar.
I totally adore this coffe cup ring image! It is from Queen Kat Designs. I paired it with a tiny circular Studio G stamp that says “Cheers”, which I got at Pez-a-Doodle Designs. I stamped both images using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain, and then used Tea Stain and Frayed Burlap to sponge around the edges.I used the Inkssentials Foam Ink Blending Tool to do my sponging – I love that thing! And just for fun I added some Pez-a-Doodle Pez-a-Blings embellies, just to finish it off. They sell in single color packs, as well as multi color packs. The color I used here is Brown Patina Sparkle 🙂
I went monochromatic on this card – it just seemed appropriate. It reminds me of being in a coffee shop!
QKD is blog hoppin’ today, in anticipation of the new releases coming up tonight! My card uss two of my favorite sets — Get Comfy and You’re My Person. I think that is the sweetest sentiment in the world!!!!
I popped the chair up on dimensionals and used a Copic marker to highlight parts of it. Now, I’m sure I’ve done something wrong with this post, like used a set I wasn’t supposed to — but with all I’ve got going on, I’m just thrilled to have made a card, lol! I can’t seem to get good images of the new releases I’ve made – they all come out blurry. So I’ll try again tomorrow when the light is better!
Go to the QKD Blog for more deets on the blog hop!
I should have a super cute sample to show you today, but since I have been in the hospital I’ve gotten a bit behind! But you *have* to go to all the design team member’s blogs and check out the cuteness!! You have until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, May 30th to vote and leave a comment. The winners will be announced on Monday, June 1st when we do the month in review post.
It’s my week to do the sketch for Thankful Thursday, and I’m still trying to learn how to use my Adobe Photoshop for stuff like this – so go easy on me, lol. But first let me tell you a little more about Stan here. I colored him using Copic Markers. All of my cutouts are using Nesties, except for the sentiment – I used the word window punch from SU for that. My dp is from American Crafts, and I got it on sale! I love it when sales happen at unexpected moments!
Ok, here is the sketch. Drumroll please…… *what do you think of it? Is it easy to follow? I’d love constructive feedback or step by step instructions for drawing sketches, lol. Because I really wrestled with this one. But I’d do anything for those wonderful ladies at InStyle, so try and try again I did!
Now that we’ve gotten Mother’s Day out of the way, I can start on Father’s Day stuff! Here is one card I’ve made – the sweet little superhero with the wonderful LAD sentiment about fathers. I used Pacific Point as my card base and some fun dp my parents gave me for Christmas, paired with Riding Hood Red and Confetti White cardstock to complete this card.
I stamped my little man with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and used an aquapainter to color him, I punched the sentiment out with a key tag punch and edged it with Pacific Point. All together, pretty simple – but guys are simple, lol!! I did handstitch some thread at the top to finish the card off. What do you think?
