God Bless the USA

LAD_GodBlessThe USA_tbuOhmygosh! Have you SEEN the new Stars and Stripes digital paper and stamp singles of the month from Lizzie Anne Designs???? I’m in love!! For this sweet little card, I just printed out a piece of the patterned dp, and a piece of the solid red, which is designed to make matching totally easy (and it does!). I stamped my image on GP White cardstock, and layered it a red mat. Then I popped it up on monstrous pop dots, added a star for some bling, and a mini clothespin for cuteness.

I must say, Lizzie Anne is really getting me into digital paper. I was skittish at first, but I love the way it turns out! You should definitely go check all of their’s out – they are so much fun!

CD Insert :)

lad_cdinsert_tbu1How fun is this? I made a CD insert for a CD I burned for a friend. It’s of my favorite Christmas album, and it’s on its way to her tomorrow — I sure hope she gets it before Christmas, lol!

This was super easy to do. I used paper from the LAD Winter Wonderland pack, the watercolor cheating method (with markers), and put a little CE on the flames and the angel’s wings. Simple, I know – but I like it! I hope she does, too 🙂

I Just Love the Chickies!

usc_birdienotepad_tbuI am *so* addicted to these little birdies that were part of the November Unity kit – I can’t stop using them!!!!!  I need to start this post by admitting that I totally stole this idea from Bethany, over at It’s Not All Black and White. She made the cutest notepad, and made it look soooo easy!

And shockingly, even for someone challenged like me, it was!! I’m giving this one to a friend at the office as part of her Christmas present. And I’m going to make several more for stocking stuffers for the family. So thanks for the idea, Bethany!

Stamps: Enjoy Your Story (November Kit)
Paper: Pixie Pink, Gable Green, Basic Grey dp, non SU Watercolor
Ink: Brown Stazon
Accessories: SU Markers (Pixie Pink, Gable Green), aquapainter, Martha Stewart edge punch, ribbon, brad

Heaven and Nature

lad_peacejoyhope_tbuThree more cards to show you today! All three of today’s cards were made with Heaven & Nature,  from Lizzie Anne Designs’ Katie Jane Collection. I love the stamps in that collection! What a week it has been – I’m thrilled that I have been able to show you so many projects this week! This first card is a result of Lizzie Anne Designs’ Sketch #55. I swear, that Joslyn can create some super cool sketches!!

She said to make this card to specific measurements – 3″x5.5″. And the special twist was to make it a Christmas card and incorporate the color black. Well, check, check, and check! I *love* this card!

Card number two, from the same set, is a super simple, warm, and vintage-y feeling card. With no embellishments, no less! It’s another for my “easy to make, easy to mail” stack, lol. And I used some old In Colors that I’ve been hoarding. I’m not sure why the pic is so small – oops! Just click on it to make it larger! lad_heavennature_tbu

And the third card I’m sharing today is a simple layout, but very striking, I think. The poinsettia is stamped on Very Vanilla, adhered to the card with dimensionals, and then coated with Ranger Crackle Accents. It didn’t occur to me that it would make the ink smear, but I kind of like the end result – it is a crackled flower, that looks soft and aged.

Deets for all three cards:

Stamps: LAD Heaven and Nature, Just Words
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, River Rock, Basic Black, Kraft, Cranberry Crisp, True Thyme, Basic Grey dp
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Re, Versafine Black, Cranberry Crisp, True Thyme
Accessories: Always Artichoke brads, Ranger Crackle Accents, paper piercer, linen thread

It’s Holiday Blitz Time!

lad_figgyornaments_tbuIt’s officially here – card making frenzy time at my house 🙂 Thank goodness I have all of these awesome Lizzie Anne Stamps to help me! I think my Christmas list grow by leaps and bounds every year, despite my very best intentions. And this year, we are really making an effort to focus not so much on the gift, but the feeling of togetherness . So, that means more cards, lol.

This frst one is a color combo suggested to me by Beth (MyPrecious). When she first threw it out there, I did not think I was going to like it. But wow – when you put it together it totally pops!! Anyway, if you’ve never been – check out her blog! Wowza!

My second card came to be because of Jenn. SHe suggested I make a shaker card using these colors – and I’m not one to shy away from a challenge! It was an adventure to make, and I made some mistakes along the way, but hey – for my first try — not too bad!

lad_pixiesnowflakes_tbuI really like the color combo she suggested – never though about doing it for Christmas cards! I probably should noy have picked a skinny circle as my first ever frame to make, but again that was part of the fun. If you’ve never done a shaker card, check out the Splitcoast tutorial on them!

Both of my cards use the Build-A-Bauble set from Lizzie Anne Designs. See how many different possibilities it has?? How fun!

Kraft Skates

I love love love, cannot get enough of, the look of Close to Cocoa on Kraft paper. Paired together, I think they make an absolutely wonderul vintage feeling card. So warm and delightful! This is another super simple holiday card, that is no frills – so I can mail it easily. I’m so lame, lol!

I can’t believe I actually  made a one layer card! Woohoo! I used my Nestablilities to emboss on the card front, and used the smaller rectangle as my guide for sponging around the skates. Put some snowflakes on there and done!

Now, let me tell you about some awesome stuff going on over at Lizzie Anne Designs! Are you ready????

  • They are retiring some amazing sets, and each set is available for purchase at 40% off!!! Even the singles!!!!! You cannot get a better deal than that, I promise! Go check out what’s on sale, and get it before it is gone!
  • This week the Product of the Week is the Winter Wonderland Paper Pack – and holy smokes is it full of fab paper! There are patterns that don’t have to be used exclusively for Christmas, so you should totally snap this up while it is on sale – it would make a great gift, too!
