I will be back, lol

Please excuse my lack of posts. I’ll be back on Tuesday with all new and fun samples. Thanks for hanging in with me!

Geisha Anya and a Unity Challenge

usc-usc20peterpan_tbuHere is one of the bokmarks I made for today’s Untiy Addicts Challenge. The challenge was to make a bookmark based on a favorite book from when you were a child, or now. Well, my munchkin and I watched Peter Pan today, and it remind me of how very much I love J.M. Barrie’s original Peter Pan. So…here’s the super simple version! I chose my colors based on Peter’s outfit – the light and dark green, and the red for the fetaher in his cap. I stamped the flourish from Growing In Unity and then outlined it with my Sakura gelly roll pen. I chose to put the word “time” at the bottom because I think that is a central them to the book, lol. The stitches are from Wendy sewing his shadows back on. Thanks for the great challenge, Maria – I have needed to replenish my book mark stash! Feel free to play along – check this thread over on SCS to find where to post your creations!

tgf_mttsc6geishaanya_tnuNext I just have to share Geisha Anya in Yellow with you! My sketch is based on Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesday sketch – I know that means I should have posted this yesterday, but it was only in my head – not on paper, lol! Geisha Anya is a digistamp available at The Greeting Farm (formerly Pink Poison) – isn’t she just adorable!!??!?! Well, I love her because I love all things asian! I took my color scheme from the Prima Eire dp.

mttsc6So my base is Garden Green, my next panel is More Mustard, and my next Panel is Cranberry Crisp. Madelynn didn’t say the card was supposed to be square, but I’m sure she understands that some of us just have to tweak things a bit – I was in the mood for square! I ticket punched several corners, and added green dew drops to them – to follow the rules of the sketch. I also added ribbon down the right side (it is dark green, I promise!) and a Prima centered with a whole bunch f green dew drops. I really really really love dew drops!!

Thanks Madelyn, for yet another week of awesome inspiration – you rock girlie! I’m so happy your mom chose me to be part of this fun team of ladies who get to participate in your sketch every week! If anyone else out there would like to play along, we have a group over at Papercraft Planet – please feel free to join us, and have some fun chatting and playing with sketches!

If you upload you card to SCS or PPC, please use the keyword MTTSC6, so we can find your awesome work to drool over it! Have a Happy Wednesday!

October Afternoon

jbe_jbe036book_tbuToday over at Jacksonbelle Embellishments we are highlighting the fabulous products made by October Afternoon. And if you’ve never seen or used anything by them – you are totally missing out! Oh my goodness this stuff rocks!!!! What I’ve got to show you is a chipboard book my Melissa Frances that I bought from Jacksonbelle ages ago – she has some way cute ones in stock now from Basic Grey!. Isn’t the semi circle shape just the cutest thing?! For once, I’ve managed to start early on a project – this is going to a mother or mother-n-law (I have 2 of each, lol) for Valentine’s Day. I thought I’d put some cute pictures of my daughter in it. You can’t go wrong with that!

jbe_jbe036closeup_tbuI started by painting the whole book pink with acrylic paint. I didn’t worry too much about getting it on the coils, because I knew I’d be adding ribbon. I alos painted the outer edges of the paper pink as well – just remember not to let them get stuck together! It looks super cute. I took a piece of October Afternoon dp, from the Daydream line – called Rainboots, and cut it into a semi circle . Once I adhered it I used my Basic Grey sanding kit to file the edges, and the surface of the paper itself. It turned out nice and aged. I stamped my large flower, from the October Afternoon set called For the Record,  on watercolor paper, and painted it with Shimmerz. I used Olive paint on the leaves, Hottie Pink Blingz for the flower centers, and Pink Poinsetta Blingz for the petals. I cut it out and adhered it with dimensionals. I also painted the stamped floral image on the dp with Shimmerz. Above that, I stamped the word “Memories” in Versafine Black ink.

I tied pink grosgrain ribbon around every coil, cutting it at various lengths. And that is all I have to show you about this little album today – it is an ogoing process! As I get more accomplished, I’ll be sharing it here! Feedback is totally welcome – how do you think it looks so far? Be sure to checkout the Jacksonbelle Blog for other fun projects, and check out the DT member’s blogs as well! (links on right side)

The Gift of Coffee

lps_coffeegift_tbuThis is a super simple project using one of the new releases from {Little Paper Shop} called Make Your Own Mug. I bought a bag of Starbucks coffee (mmmmm…..) and wrapped it in cardstock and dp. Then I used my long rectangle nestabilities to make a front panel for it. I stamped the sentiment, tied on a ribbon, and placed my cutout coffee bag at the bottom. All in all, I’d say this took maybe 15 minutes? And I think it is a great hostess gift at a dinner aprty, or a fab little “just because” gift. Who doesn’t love Starbucks coffee? Actually, I’m having a hard time giving this away! It smells so good, I want to keep it! I tried to give it to my husband as a gift, hoping he’d brew a pot, but he said it was too nice for him to open! What??

For some reason the pic looks crooked, but I promise it isn’t!!! I hate it when that happens  – it drives me nuts! 🙂 Hope everyone has a great Monday, and that you are off work like I am!!! Yippee!!!

Stamps: LPS Make Your Own Mug
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Creamy Caramel, BG dp
Ink: Creamy Caramel
Accessories: twill ribbon, nesties, package of coffee

So, without further fluff and silliness, here are seven ladies who I just think the world of. Not only do they have lovely blogs, but theyare lovely people, with good hearts and tons of talent!

Awwwww……isn’t he cute???

tgf_everythingpuppy_tbu1I love puppies – who doesn’t love puppies? I love dogs, too, let me clear that up, lol. But something about the puppy face, and the puppy breath, and puppy love…..I just wanna squeeze them! Our dog, Will (who is 2 but thinks he is 7 months old, lol) is always so happy to see us when we walk in the room he is in – even if we’ve only been gone 5 minutes it’s like we’ve returned from years away. So I thought this sweet ittle image from the Home Sweet Home set by The Greeting Farm (formerly Pink Poison) worked really well with this Fancy Pants dp, that already had the sentiment on it!

All I had to do was cut it to the right size, and the rest was as easy as could be. I layered the flowers with the brad on top of the word “you” – it really is under there! I colored my puppy with Copics, and popped him up on dimensionals. I left the card super simple, because I’m in that kind of mood. Happy Friday, and thanks for stopping by!

It’s Tea Time!

lps_jantent_tbuOk, I’m a bit behind! I should have shown you this adorable set yesterday, when it was time for its sneak peek. But this week has gotten the better of me, lol, and I just didn’t have time to make a card! So, let me introduce you to Tea Time, the newest release from {Little Paper Shop}!!!!! Isn’t it darling???? Now, my dear friend Jessica is going to be after me for not giving this set the “Alice treatment”, lol — it does totally remind me of Alice in Wonderland. But the colors didn’t match the paper, you see — so plans had to change!

It just so happens that today, which is release day for the stamp sets, is also the day of the {Little Paper Shop} DT’s monthly challenge! And guess who got to do the first challenge of the New Year? The newbie member – me! I asked everyone to make a tent card using one of the new release images that we’ve shown you this week. To see everyone’s use the links on the right of my blog to hop on over to their blogs to check them out! To see the cards the DT created using the Tea Time set in particular, go to the {Little Paper Shop} blog to see them!

Now, y’all are probably sick to death of me and my new love affair with Shimmerz, but I don’t care!!!! I painted her dress with Pink Poinsetta Shimmerz Blingz, her hair with the brand new Shimmerz Blingz Pixie Dust, the teapot and cups with the brand new Shimmerz Blingz Hottie Pink, and the grass with Olive Shimmerz paint. I watercolored it all first, though. Because my Prima Peaches paper (which, btw, is on sale — a 6×6 pad for $2.79 at Jacksonbelle Embellishments!)was kind of busy, I tried to go easy  on the embellies – just a few flowers. In the center of the smallest green ones, I dotted some Crystal Stickles.
