Today’s Inspiration Challenge

I always enjoy the Inspiration Challenge that Karen (aka kthaman) hosts on Saturdays. And today was no different — what a cool flower packet she shared!! Fortunately, it inspired me to do a simple card, because that is just about all my brain can handle today.

I started with a Kraft base, to mimic the bag. Immediately, it occured to me that the bag was square-ish, so I decided to put two jumbo eyelets at the top, and score the card at 4 1/4″. And voila! a square card! I adhered the top portion down with Zots, and just couldn’t be more tickeld with the way it ended up. I love it when an idea works. I’m sure I am not the first person to come up with this, but still. It made me feel creative this morning!

I masked the large flowers and the green leafy image (if you aren’t familiar with masking, check this SCS tutorial out!). I colored the flowers and stems with SU Markers, and added a fabric tag to the side. And that is just about it – pretty simple, pretty quick!

The small stuff:

Stamps: Embrace Life
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon, Old Olive
Accessories: Su Markers: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, More Mustard, Mellow Moss, Old Olive; Jumbo Eyelets, Crop-a-dile, fabric tag
Techniques: masking

  2. wow I love the flowers what a great idea. I love the look of the card and the way that you placed the score line so far down that it makes your eye think that it is a square card.

  3. This is very pretty and unique! I love it!!
