This One’s for Marti!

padsu_timinspiredOk – first – I rarely make pne layer cards because they are so sarn hard to do (for me). But I managed to do it today!!! I’m sorry for the lack of posts, btw, It’s been awful for me to0! My digital camera died, and I had to wait for a new one to get shipped. I got a Kodak, and it is Pink! I wanted somethin small  enough to put in my purse, and at 14 megapixels this’ll do. Plus, I got it for a great price 🙂

I’ve already done a post with a card based on this Tim Holtz 12 Days of Christmas tag. But I loved it so much I had to adapt into card format, too! I knew when I saw this SU set it would have to be mine, and I was gonna borrow some mojo from Tim, lol.

I say this is for Marti, because she has done an ecxellent job challengning me to try new things, espescially Tim Holtz. Thanks for the insipration Marti!!!!

The Twelve Tags of Christmas

pad_timtag_tbuSooooo…..I’ve been really hesitant about making one of these fabulous tags. Again, out of my box. But thanks to Mart’s insistence, persistence, constant encouragement, I finally made one! Of course, I had to change a few things about mine – but you work with what you’ve got, right? I used Tag #8 for my inspriation.

My btuterflies are grungeboard, purchased at Pez-a-Doodle Designs (and just so happen to be on sale!!). My tag base is confettti cream carstock, and that is not a backgroung stamo. They are three different stickers or the Making Memories travel pack — see, compromise!

My stamps in the bottom corner are from Stamoin Up. I used old paper distressed ep (also on sale!!!), which did not dry as dark as I thought it would. But when youare holding the thag in your hand, it’s really suntle and pretty.

Overall, I am quite pleased with my first shot at this. And yes Marti, if you are listening: You pushed me out of my comfort zone again and I truly love it!! You are so fun!

What? I can’t color anything??? (post #2 for today)

pad_softflowerwindow_tbuThat is exactly what I thought when Marti issued this challenge! How on earth was I going to make a card without my Copics, or Prismacolors???? Well, what I came up with is one of my all-time favorite cards! It is nice to be forced outside of my comfort zone every now and then!

Everything on my card, except the Cuttlebug folder, came from Pez-a-Doodle Designs. They have SUCH fabulous shopping!

I started by sponging Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Aged Mahogany onto the piece I Cuttlebugged. Then I added a little Tea Stain on top of that. My flower box is also done the same way. I used the Inkssentials blending tool for my sponging – I love that thing! I stamped the window on a different piece of cardstock in Walnut Stain, and sponged Tea Stain to “color” it. I cut the window and the flower box out and lined them up so I could use a variety of Adirondack Inks (Pesto, Meadow, and Watermelon) to stamp the flowers. The window panes are covered with Ranger Gossy Accents, which had the effect of slightly softening the lines of the stamps – I love the way the flowers turned out!

Once the glossy accents dried, I adhered the whole thing together. And seriously, I love how soft and pretty it is! Oh – I forgot to tell you what awesome stamp line these stamps came from!! They are brand new Flower Soft stamps! Marti has an amazing selection of Flower Soft products at awesome prices!

Pezzy is Sick!

pad_pezzyissick__tbuAwwww, poor thing! No one like to see a sick baby! I just love this image from Pez-a-Doodle Designs. It is so fun! It’a called Stamp Snifflin’ with Pezzy –  and it really could not be any sweeter!

I used all sorts of goodies that are available at Pez-a-Doodle Designs on this card. My image is stamped using Adirondack Ink in Pesto. I’ve never used Adirondack inks before, and was very impressed with them! I colored my image with Copics, and Pezzy’s tooth is colored with a white gel pen. For the Rx lettering, I used Tim Holtz Distress Stickles  in Peeled Paint to “color” it.  Then I used Fruit Punch Stickles to add corner dots and a row across the dp – just for some fun bling! I also used a glitter gel pen to add some oomph to the dp – on the butterfly and the swirls. It’s hard to see in the pic, I know!

Marti has tons of things in the store on sale, and CHA goodies are coming in by the truckload! Flower Soft is now available, Grungeboard is in stock, and you have to check out all of the Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powders! Happy Shopping!!!!!

It’s an Exciting Friday Announcement!

pad_distresscupcakeframe_tnuI’m so excited to finally be able to share with you all that I am the newest member of the Pez-a Doodle Design Team! *YAY*!!!! If you’ve never visited the store, you totally should! Wait, I’m getting ahead of myself, lol. First let me tell you about today’s project! I took an dollar store wooden frame that was originally baby blue, and painted it with Tim Holtz Distress Paint, in the Peeled Paint Color. And holy toads does she stock a ton of different colors of these paints! I applied two coats, for extra crackle, because I love the super shabby look. When it was all dry, I rubbed Tea Stain ink on it to age it a bit, and to rub off some of the paint so the blue showed through.

You see, this started out as a Valentine’s Day project for my husband. But once I decided to put the cupcake image in there, I knew I was keeping it, lol. The actual picture size is 3×3, so I cut a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock to fit that, and then a piece of Basic Grey Eva to be that mat.I layered another piece of the Pretty in Pink, and adhered a cupcake stamped in Versafine ink on Confetti White cs and colored with Copics – scrumdiddlyumptios, don’tcha think? The darling embellie on the corner of the frame came from Marti over at Pez-a-Doodle, and I have a feeling someone made that little cutie by hand! sn’t it darling?!?! I put some pretty pink crocheted ribbon up top, and gave the frame a place of honor on my desk. I love it!

Ok, back to how great Pez-a-Doodle Designs is! My cupcake image came from their exclusive Polka Dot Pie stamp line. This particular image is from Chocolate Treats #1 and I swear I wanna eat it! Marti just got back from CHA, and is bringing tons of new stuff into the store. And you now what that means – almost everything currently in the store is on sale! So be sure to go chck that out! Guess what just arrived???? FLOWER SOFT!! I am so excited I could burst! I cannot wait to get my hands on this stuff!

I’m so thrilled to be joining this talented group of ladies at such an exciting time for the store. I can’t wait to show y’all some of the other stuff I’ve made, and to try out new goodies and show them to you! Be sure and check out the Pez-a Doodle blog as well as the blogs of the other DT members – Catherine, Christine, and Robin.
