Sketch Time at Jacksonbelle!

jbe053This week at Jacksonbelle we have a terrific sketch to work with! I decided to make a square card, and it is the last of my Mother’s Day cards. And since she reads this blog, she’ll know this one is hers, lol. I was seriously apprehensive about putting this sketch together  — for some reason it was a bit daunting to me. But that’s what sketches are all about – stretching your imagination! I think it was the different top and bottom panels that tripped me up.

jbelle_beachykeen_tbu

Eventually I got it though! My center panel is mostly Cuttlebugged – I tried to leave the bottom portion not done to give it a “fade in” kind of look. My mom lives at the beach and loves beach themed cards, so that’s why I went with this Imaginisce stmp and the Inkadinkado shell.Actually, I boutght both of them with her in mind – good thing I have finally inked them up! I added a palm tree to make the card a bit more fun, and then left it alone. I love the bright colors and patterns – so thanks to whichever JBelle genius (Lynda) that came up with this sketch!

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

LPS Monday

LPS_NeighPony_tbuIt is challenge time over at the {Little Paper Shop} blog again! This week we have an awesome sketch by Cindy Haffner (check out her blog here) – isn’t it the cutest? I inadvertently left out the long vertical piece on mine, but of well – it was just a guideline, right???

I just think this farmyard set that LPS makes is so stinkin’ adorable! This one reminds me of Butterscotch, my daughter’s animatronic pony. No real ones for her yet! He just looks so cuddly! And the sentiment cracks me up – don’t ask me why. It just tickles my funny bone in the right kind of way, lol.

Cindy_Haffner_LPS_2Here’s a copy of Cindy’s awesome sketch! I don’t think mine turned out too bad – I am bothered that I forgot the vertical piece because I’m silly like that. I might have to make another card to make it up to myself!

I colored my image with Copics and used Versafine Jet Black ink to stamp it with. I used Nesties to cut out my ovals. The dp came from Jacksonbelle’s store, but I don’t know what line it is – oops!

I hope everyone had a relaxing Mother’s Day yesterday, and I hope you all have a wonderful Monday (as far as Mondays go ;))

Just a Little Love Note

lps_lovenote_tbuWell, I’m a dunce and never did post a card for {Little Paper Shop} on Monday. Aren’t I awful? I’ve just been so busy! So this week you are getting a special treat and getting my LPS card on Thursday! *Yay*!!!! I used the set Chirp, which I just love. Sorry for the picture quality – Will, my dog, really wanted to be in it too, so I had to snap quickly!

My sketch comes courtesy of Triple the Sketch. If you haven’t checked them out yet do it now! Geniuses that bunch is, I tell ya! I love everything Patter Cross touches, so if she’s involved chances are I’m drooling over it, lol! I colored my bird with a combo of Prismacolor markers and Copics. The adorable heart embellie is from Pez-aDoodle Designs. How sweet is it? I tied pink organdy ribbon around the panel aove it. And all of my dp is Bsaic Grey Bittersweet.

Did you know that we are now doing sketches and other fun stuff on the Little Paper Shop’s Blog ? Check out THIS sketch! Yes, you read it right, we are now doing challenges on the LPS Blog and encourage you to check it out! This week’s sketch will be open until the 16th of the month, and a LUCKY WINNER will be able to choose one of our new stamp sets being released on the 17th! Lots of fun stuff going on over there so be sure to check it out! I’m saving mine for next week’s new releases to show you, lol. And yes, you heard that right too – {Little Paper Shop} has new releases coming up very soon!

Now, be sure and stay tuned for tomorrow – I have a surprise announcement! There is a clue about it on my card – think you can figure it out?

Kissing the Frog

jbe_jbe039_tbuOk, I’ll admit it. I have a thing for frogs. Frogs and pigs – I just think they are adorable. So when I spied this Imaginisce image, it had to be mine! Ain’t he cute? And I have been cranking the square cards out lately – what is up with that? Well, this week it is because the Jacksonbelle challenge is a square sketch. So, I’ll place the blame over there, lol! Seriously, though – I really am digging on them! I just need to find a place for envies. Where do y’all get your square envies from (other than SU)? Anyway, moving on, lol….

jbe039The awesome dp I used came from Jacksonbelle’s store too. It is by Fancy Pants, from their About a Boy line. How great are the colors? I think we all know about my obsession with Fancy Pants, lol. I colored my little cutie using some new Prismacolor markers I picked up on clearance at Office Depot this weekend. They were going out of business, so I figured for 40% off, why not try a set of 24?he’s popped up on dimensionals, and the frog underneath him is colored a darker green using Copics. In the corners of my main panel I used Distress Stickles in Orange Marmalade to make little dots. And the brads in the top corner came from who on earth knows where – I didn’t even know I had them!

I’m pretty sure I totally cheated with this skech by using my ribbon to divide up my sections, rather than having 4 separate panels. But oh well – I’ll just be a cheater! At least my ribbon matches my card base, so it isn’t too obvious! Be sure and stop by Jacksonbelle’s store – check this out:

Lindsey is making room for all the new CHA goodies by having a sale in the store this weekend- today (Friday) until Tuesday at midnight EST.  Everything in the store is 30 % off!!!!! Be sure to use coupon code Feb30 at checkout to have your discount applied!

Happy Shopping!

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

Our First Guest Twinklette!

tgf_mttsc9_tbuThis week, fro the very first time, we have a guest “Twinklette”! Instead of Miss Madelynn drawing our sketch for us, the very talented Miss Piper did. Piper is Heather Schlatter’s daughter – and man can this girl draw a sketch!! Whew! I never should have left it for the last minute! I already had this Alice Anya digi image from The Greeting Farm colored, and have been dying to use her. SO thi seemed like a good opportunity! I’ll be honest – all of the specialized corners were more than my poor brain could take late on a Monday night, so I did some creative adapting – hope that is ok Piper!

My card base is Bordering Blue. My next panel is Confetti Cream, which I also used for Alice, and the cross panels. I dug out some Prima’s I had that matched the DCWV Once Upon a Time paper perfectly and added those to the corners once I had run all my small panels through the Cuttlebug. I felt like my card was busy enough, so for the added embellies I just put simple little silver dew drops, to echo the brads that center the flowers. This was lots of fun Piper – thanks so much for really challenging me this week! I love being part of the Twinkling Tuesdays group – it is so much fun! Thanks again to Jess and Madelyn – the masterminds behind the whole thing! Don’t forget to visit the Twinkling Tuesday blog to see this week’s featured stamper, and click on the links in my right sidebar to see the other Twinklettes fabulous cards!

Better Late Than Never :)

tgf_mttsc8_tbu1Ok, I know it is sooooo late in the day, lol! But This is the card I made for Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesday Sketch #8 and I just had to get it posted on the right day! I adore this Little Red Rding Hood digistamp from The Greeting Farm. She is too cute all decked out in pink! My card base is Cameo Coral, and I used a Copic Marker (R22) to match her outfit to it.  I also used a layer of Creamy Caramel and to make her really stand out a layer of Confetti White. And you really can’t tell, but that layer was cuttlebugged with the distressed stripes folder. I guess it is the light in my craft room.

img_3308 I also used Liquid Pearls in White Opal to place little kisses along the top and bottom, in between the stripes. I added a few to her cloak, and between the sentiments I used as wel. They are from the Panda Friends set over at The Greeting Farm. My ribbon is from the $1 spot at Mike’s — they have the best ribbon in those bins, I swear! Thanks to Madelynn again for another great sketch! Be sure to check out the brand new Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesday blog, and check out her mom’s blog, The Whimsical Butterfly – she has blog candy!

A Jacksonbelle Sketch – Post 1 for today :)

jbelle-january-2009-sketchHere is the Jacksonbelle sketch for this Tuesday. When I first saw it, it was like 3:00 in the morning, and I was *man is this ever complicated* — but you know what? It isn’t!! I think (and I know I’m tooting my own horn here) I made one og the simplest, most gorgeous cards I have ever made with this sketch!  I *love* my card! Please feel free to play along – you don’t have to use JBelle stuff to play. If you upload your card to SCS, use the keyword JBE034, so everyone can see it 🙂 Also, you can leave a comment here linking to it, or on the JBelle blog! Ok, ready to see my card????

jbe_jbe034_tbuTaDa!!! *applause* Ok, you may not love it as much as I do – but ohmystars I am in love with it! My base is SU Kiwi Kiss. My patterned paper is from Prima’s Lucid Collection, which I got at Jacksonbelle’s store. I also got the coordinating Prima Flowers, from the same collection, at her store. I’m not sure they are still in stock, so I’m glad I snatched them when I did! These two happen to be a perfect match to Grovy Guava cardstock. Now, let me tell you about the stamps. They are from October Afternoon – this set is called For the Record. If you don’t have any, you had better get some of these acrylic stamps in a hurry!!! I loved how well etched they were, how cleanly and clearly they stamped, how clean they came when I cleaned them (because some clear stamps just don’t come “clean”, kwim?) – basically they were of awesome quality, imo. And I love things that coordinate – so that they have paper themes to go with stamps just sends me over the moon! These are amazing acrylic stamps. And don’t worry – the DT has begged for more sets in the store, lol!

While I’m thinking about it, let me send you to a sale! Lindsey has just placed *tons* more stuff in the clearance section of her site, to make room for the super fab goodies that wil come home from Winter CHA. So go check it out! Quickly, before I buy everything in there! And while you are there, don’t forget to grab the 4 new colors of Shimmerz Blingz, that you can’t buy anywhere but Jacksonbelle Embellishments!

I hope you have time to play along with this fabulous sketch – now that I’ve done it I can see SO many more possibilities for it! I can’t wait to see what you create 🙂
