Barb is Bowling!

ISS_PolkaDotBowling_tbuThis is Barb, and she is one of the retro images from InStyle stamps. Isn’t she the most fun? I love that she is bowling! I haven’t done that in so long! I totally want to go now though – she has inspired me, lol!

I colored her using Copic markers, and made the bowling ball polka dotted just for fun. The rest of the card is pretty underwhelming – plain and simple. I do love the Primas  I used – they are from the Carribean collection, St. Martin, by Prima. I can’t remember where I bought them, but I love them!

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

ROAR, Little Dinosaur!

dscf45451This week over at Jacksonbelle we are celebrating all things Prima — paper, stamps, flowers — all of it! I just love this chubby little acrylic dinosaur set. So fin!I started my card by matching up colors – Baja Breeze for the blue, Kiwi Kiss for the green, and Cranberry Crisp for the red. Then it was a matter of finding just the right size scallop punch to hold him – I ended up going with the Marvy Scalloped Giga.I colored him with Copics – YG03 and B32.And of course, then his little eye looked sad – but a white gel pen fixed that right up. I also used the gel pen for dotting the edges of the scallop.

My dp is from the Angelique collection, which was recently on sale — I *heart *sales! This pattern is called “Angel Kisses” and I am in love with it. I put the “ROAR” on a line, and even though it came colored with black ink (Tuxedo Memento Black, actually) I colored over that with the Copics I mentioned earlier. Then I went digging for flowers. Of course, since I possess so many, it didn’t take long to come up with a match, lol.

So you see, it’s really a simple card. Scout’s Honor! Of course, my dp, stamps, and flowers are all made by Prima 🙂

It’s Tea Time!

lps_jantent_tbuOk, I’m a bit behind! I should have shown you this adorable set yesterday, when it was time for its sneak peek. But this week has gotten the better of me, lol, and I just didn’t have time to make a card! So, let me introduce you to Tea Time, the newest release from {Little Paper Shop}!!!!! Isn’t it darling???? Now, my dear friend Jessica is going to be after me for not giving this set the “Alice treatment”, lol — it does totally remind me of Alice in Wonderland. But the colors didn’t match the paper, you see — so plans had to change!

It just so happens that today, which is release day for the stamp sets, is also the day of the {Little Paper Shop} DT’s monthly challenge! And guess who got to do the first challenge of the New Year? The newbie member – me! I asked everyone to make a tent card using one of the new release images that we’ve shown you this week. To see everyone’s use the links on the right of my blog to hop on over to their blogs to check them out! To see the cards the DT created using the Tea Time set in particular, go to the {Little Paper Shop} blog to see them!

Now, y’all are probably sick to death of me and my new love affair with Shimmerz, but I don’t care!!!! I painted her dress with Pink Poinsetta Shimmerz Blingz, her hair with the brand new Shimmerz Blingz Pixie Dust, the teapot and cups with the brand new Shimmerz Blingz Hottie Pink, and the grass with Olive Shimmerz paint. I watercolored it all first, though. Because my Prima Peaches paper (which, btw, is on sale — a 6×6 pad for $2.79 at Jacksonbelle Embellishments!)was kind of busy, I tried to go easy  on the embellies – just a few flowers. In the center of the smallest green ones, I dotted some Crystal Stickles.

More Lizzie Anne Sneak Peeks – My 3rd post for Wednesday!

lad_redberries_tbuYummy! Who does’t love the summertime, for those fresh juicy perfectly rip strawberries? This beautiful berry is from Lizzie Anne’s new Tutti Fruity set – you can see the whole thing on the LAD blog. I could not resist gong all out on the polka dots with this one – I just love it! The sketch I used is a Mojo Monday sketch from a couple of weeks ago and I think it is super fun. And ooooohhh, the red – talk about I bold statement I never make! I never put this much red on a card! I was just so inspired by this yummy berry….mmmmmmm! There is also an apple, a pear, pie slices — go check it out!

lad_purplecow_tbuThis little sweetie pie of a card uses the set In the Nursery, which could not BE more darling. And would you beleive I voluntarily used Orchid Opulence on a card??? My dp is from DCWV Once Upon a Tme series, and it had this gorgeous piece of paper with glittery shimmer and a little purple fairy in the corner. My cousin just had a baby girl, so this card is for her! The moon is painted with Angel Wing Shimmerz Paint, and in the center of the little primas I put some White Opal Liquid Pearls. I used distress ink in Tea Stain to age the cardstock the image is on, so it would match the paper.

lad_superpinkgirl_tbu This card has my favorite image of this release.  Way back when Lizzie Anne intoduced the Superhero image, my daughter was devastated because, as she put it “Girls can be superheroes too.” And then Cambria went and made a pink robot…and, wel, it was all over from there, lol. So some of you will remember that I cut the head off of the newly released (at that time) cowgirl, put her on the superhero, painted her pink, and gave her to DD – here is that card.  Well, Lizzie Anne listened (I love y’all for that), and here she is – Supergirl! How darling is she?!?!?!?! I love her ponytails, I love her boots – I just love everything about her! So I tried to kee this one simple, and focus on her. I used awesome paper from Basic Grey’s Eva collection – because it looks all girl power-y to me. I used the watercolor method for cheaters to color her, put her on a tent topper card, added a huge pink prima (we girlies love our flowers, lol), and the word believe from the Just Words set.  I LOVE HER!!! And the ladies at Lizzie Anne may not realize it, but they earned my undying devotion when they created a stamp based off of a random and fun idea that I contributed to. Tricia and Meridith (Lizze and Anne, lol) are both amazing women, and I am so proud to have the opportunity to represent their company!

If you get a chance, check out my 1st and 2nd posts today. But for sure go to the other ladies on this rockin’ design team’s blog – because they are sure to have some awesome sneak peeks for you! The whole Lizzie Anne team is listed on the right sidebar, on the Lizzie Anne blog, and here on the Lizzie Anne website. Have a terrific day!

A Jacksonbelle Sketch – Post 1 for today :)

jbelle-january-2009-sketchHere is the Jacksonbelle sketch for this Tuesday. When I first saw it, it was like 3:00 in the morning, and I was *man is this ever complicated* — but you know what? It isn’t!! I think (and I know I’m tooting my own horn here) I made one og the simplest, most gorgeous cards I have ever made with this sketch!  I *love* my card! Please feel free to play along – you don’t have to use JBelle stuff to play. If you upload your card to SCS, use the keyword JBE034, so everyone can see it 🙂 Also, you can leave a comment here linking to it, or on the JBelle blog! Ok, ready to see my card????

jbe_jbe034_tbuTaDa!!! *applause* Ok, you may not love it as much as I do – but ohmystars I am in love with it! My base is SU Kiwi Kiss. My patterned paper is from Prima’s Lucid Collection, which I got at Jacksonbelle’s store. I also got the coordinating Prima Flowers, from the same collection, at her store. I’m not sure they are still in stock, so I’m glad I snatched them when I did! These two happen to be a perfect match to Grovy Guava cardstock. Now, let me tell you about the stamps. They are from October Afternoon – this set is called For the Record. If you don’t have any, you had better get some of these acrylic stamps in a hurry!!! I loved how well etched they were, how cleanly and clearly they stamped, how clean they came when I cleaned them (because some clear stamps just don’t come “clean”, kwim?) – basically they were of awesome quality, imo. And I love things that coordinate – so that they have paper themes to go with stamps just sends me over the moon! These are amazing acrylic stamps. And don’t worry – the DT has begged for more sets in the store, lol!

While I’m thinking about it, let me send you to a sale! Lindsey has just placed *tons* more stuff in the clearance section of her site, to make room for the super fab goodies that wil come home from Winter CHA. So go check it out! Quickly, before I buy everything in there! And while you are there, don’t forget to grab the 4 new colors of Shimmerz Blingz, that you can’t buy anywhere but Jacksonbelle Embellishments!

I hope you have time to play along with this fabulous sketch – now that I’ve done it I can see SO many more possibilities for it! I can’t wait to see what you create 🙂

Auld Lang Syne – Anya Rose

tgf_scsnye10_tbu

Sing it with me:
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old times since ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
