A Birthday LPS Card

LPS_NJBday_tbuI made this card for my daighter to give to my husband’s grandfather on his 80th birthday, because, well, its tru! Even though they are actually her great-grandparents, the do always have time, patience, and most importantly to my three year od, candy.

We had a lovely party this weekend for the occasion of his 80th, and my daughter charmed them all with her stirring speech (loudly declaring her love for him to the gathered crowd of about 70 people). Way to go kiddo!

It is exceedingly simple – nesties, a corner rounder, some dp and ribbon. Nothing too special, except the feelings behind it. And that is how a handmade card should be, I think. All about the feelings behind it.

LPS Monday

LPS_NeighPony_tbuIt is challenge time over at the {Little Paper Shop} blog again! This week we have an awesome sketch by Cindy Haffner (check out her blog here) – isn’t it the cutest? I inadvertently left out the long vertical piece on mine, but of well – it was just a guideline, right???

I just think this farmyard set that LPS makes is so stinkin’ adorable! This one reminds me of Butterscotch, my daughter’s animatronic pony. No real ones for her yet! He just looks so cuddly! And the sentiment cracks me up – don’t ask me why. It just tickles my funny bone in the right kind of way, lol.

Cindy_Haffner_LPS_2Here’s a copy of Cindy’s awesome sketch! I don’t think mine turned out too bad – I am bothered that I forgot the vertical piece because I’m silly like that. I might have to make another card to make it up to myself!

I colored my image with Copics and used Versafine Jet Black ink to stamp it with. I used Nesties to cut out my ovals. The dp came from Jacksonbelle’s store, but I don’t know what line it is – oops!

I hope everyone had a relaxing Mother’s Day yesterday, and I hope you all have a wonderful Monday (as far as Mondays go ;))

LPS Monday!

lps_owlthings_tbuIt’s time fo r another Little Paper Shop challenge! This week we have a sketch, and I love sketch challenges! I used the new Magical Forest set, combined with a sentiment from the Blessings set.I think that little owl is so stinkin’ cute! I used Nesties to cut and emboss the ovals; the ink for my owl and sentiment are Memento Tuxedo Black. This is really a great sketch, becuae it is simple but tere are so many different ways you could jazz it up. I, obviously, chose to stay simple, lol.

lpsc06In place of the three little embellies in the corner, I put my great big sentiment. I really think that it goes well with the tiny owl. In addition to this awesome sketch challenge and another opportunity to win prizes this month, the LPS Birthday celebration just got even BETTER!  It’s not over yet!

LPS Monday

lps_temptingflourishes_tbuWelcome to Monday everyone! I am having the weirdest weather today – sunny intermittently between massive thunderstorms. I kind of like it!

Here is my Little Paper Shop card for today. It’s not the challenge, but I’m going to try and get that done soon. Be sure to check it out!

My card is a 4.25″ square card. I love them. They are so perfect to slip in with a gift! On my image panel, I stamped the flourish from LPS’s Flouished Dove and the bird as well. I restamped the bird on a scrap piece, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensionals. I let my 3 year old add Platinum liquid pearls to the flourish – she did pretty good!

This week the LPS sketch challenge will be for a prize.  A random winner who plays along with this week’s sketch will be chosen next Monday to win three digital images of their choice. How exciting! Go over to the LPS Blog to check it out 🙂

Also this month, LPS turns one!!!! What does that mean? It means that there will be weekly prizes and you can also look forward to the releases being given away as well during sneak peek week. You read that right – we’ve got new releases coming out this month!!! So pay close attention tho the happenings at LPS – check the blog often!!!!!!!

Color Combo Monday

color-challenge-2This is the fun color combo issued for this week’s challenge over at the LPS blog! How cute is it?

I immediately knew what I wanted to do with this color combo – and I knew I had the perfect dp for it! Thata was totally exciting. I left my layout simple, so both the stamps and dp could shine on their own. lps_asiancc_tbu

So, here it is. What do you think? I used the Inspired by Asia set by {Little Paper Shop}. You have to get it – it’s on sale for $10.08!!!!!! How could you not get it at that price?????

My dp is by Prima, and is it not drop dead goergeous? I hated to cover it up with such a large panel, lol.

I do love the image panel though – I adore corner stamps. They have the potential to add so much to a card!  To finish it up, I put large photo corners in opposite corners, and did some quick faux stitching.

Ok, I’m off to clean my stmp room. Somehow, even though I have a good sized table, I  only have about ten inches of workspace. I swear I don’t know how it happenend!taylorsig25

My Last Twinkling Tuesday….

mttsc14And my sweet little one is our Guest Twinkie today! I told her she had to pick one green, and then anyother other colors she wanted. After *MUCH* discussion, she settled on Garden Green, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White. I’m so proud of her! For a three year old, she grasps the concept of matching very well!

emerald-angelHere is what she and I came up with. Of course, she picked the image, the dp, the label shape, and had to have a trinket hanging from the ribbon.  We filed the edges of the dp, to add a bit more white.

I stepped down from the Twinkling Tuesday’s team because there are quite a few people on it now, and I felt my absence would not be as noticed. I have a lot of DT work to do,and Tuesday is one of my busiest days. I will miss everyone so much!!

Another New Release!!!!

smallthingsI am totally in love with this set! I have never run across a Mother Teresa quote that doesn’t give me pause, and I think about it for awhile. They always touch my heart. Well, in this se, there are two!!!! I made this card in the Joy Fold style – I love to make those!

And something about the colors are so soothing, and springy. Love it!

Want a chance to WIN this set? Head on over to the LPS blog and leave a comment and your name could be drawn for this gorgeous new set! {Blessings} will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, along with {Bound by the Heart} at the Little Paper Shop’s website.

{Little Paper Shop} New Releases AND Blog Candy!!!!!

bluehuesmotherand-child-copyThis is the first new release I’m going to let you see:It has the sweetest sentiment on it! It reads: “A Child and a ______never truly part – Bound in the beating of eachother’s heart.” It’s credited to Charlotte Grey. In the blank spot I put Mother, to get ahead on my Mothers’ day cards! I have 2 done already!!!!

This set is called Bound By the Heart, and is full of gorgeous sentiments like this one!

It also happens to be our DT challlenge today, and that was to sew on our cards. So I handstitched around 3 of the 4 edges.

Want a chance to win this set?

Leave a comment today on the LPS Blog telling us what you like about this brand new stamp set and you can win it!  One random winner will be chosen and announced on the LPS Blog tomorrow during our second preview day.  Good luck!

Oops – I forgot to post!

chixlittleThis week the LPS team is challenging everyone to use digi images – and there is a prize involved!! Don’t have any? Go here, and get some super cute ones from LPS!

I made two large oval scallops, and used the cropadile to join them together with a large eyelet. I slid the small oval just under the eyelet, and adhered it. My chick egg is cut out and mounted on dimensionals. He’s colored with Copics, and there is Pixie Dust Simmerz Blings on his shell.

Sorry for the extra late post today!

Glistening in the Rain

lps_glisteningintherain_tbu This week’s inspiration over at the LPS blog is a color combo — Bashful Blue, Old Olive, and Tangerine Tango. I think it is just a stunning combo! For more deets about how to play along with us go      to  the LPS blog! The keyword is LPSC05.

I put alot of TLC into this card, although it isn’t obvious, lol. After cutting the die out, I handstitched the dp to the Old Olive paper with a combo of Tangerine and Blue thread. My darling little image got lots of love, too – I colored her blue (all coloring done with Copics) and used Waterfall Stickles on her coat and umbrella. I used Orange Marmalade Distress Stickles on her boots. I added Crystal Effecta for the pool of water and I had forgotten, in comparison, how much I like the Ranger Glossy better. I used Icicle Stickles to make raindrops, and finally, Peeled Paint Distress Stickles around the edges of the scalloped Circle.

I chose my sentiment because on my drive to work, I often see kids standing in the rain waiting for the bus. It breaks my heart that there is no one to wait with them. So, for each one I pass, I quietly hope for the bus to get there just a little sooner. Weird, I know, but that’s why I picked it 🙂

Just a Swingin’….

lps_sweetswinging_tbuI finally had time to participate in this week’s Sketch Challenge over at LPS! And I don’t think she could be any cuter! I am totally loving these new digi images that LPS has come out with – fabulous! My card base is Blush Blossom, my next layer is Wild Wasabi. My gorgeous dp is form Basic Grey’s Offbeat colection. The girl on the swing it printed on Naturals Cream cardstock and colored with Copics.

For more deets about the sketch challenge, go to the LPS Blog!

It’s {Little Paper Shop} Monday Again!

lps_birthdayhedgie_tbuThis is the card I made for my little brother’s 25th birthday last wek. He’s getting so old – which means I’m getting older! *Yikes*!!!! I used the Happy Hedgehog new release from {Little Paper Shop} for his card – doesn’t he look like he is having the best time? I colored hime with a combination of Copic and Prismacolor markers. My dp is from the “About a Boy” line by Fancy Pants. I hope he liked his card!

Over at {Little Paper Shop}, there is a sale going on! 10% off until the 25th – so go stock up! Also, be sure to check out the blog to see the newest sketch challenge, and try to play along! Have a wonderful Monday, everyone!

I apologize for the super short post, but it’s a busy day, lol. And I have to get to work on tomorrow’s post, too!

Do You Believe in Angels?

lps_plumangel_tbuWell, we do over at {Little Paper Shop}!!! Check out the newest sneak peek!  How darling is this little angel, who is the newest release for {Little Paper Shop}?? I love it! She seems so sweet and friendly! Hop on over to the {Little Paper Shop} blog to see creations from the other fabulously talented ladies on the team, and be sure to go to their blogs. Links are on the right of my sidebar! As usual, they’ve come up with excellent samples!

I based my whole card around the scrumptious purple paper, which is from the DCWV “Once Upon a Time” mat stack. My card base is Pale Plum and my layers are Baja Breeze. And wouldn’t you know, I found some thread at Wal Mart recently that is multicolored, and it matched perfectly! So after I colored the angel with Copics and adhered her to the middle panel, I handstitched around the edges, which I love to do. Across the bottom I added some square brads and the sentiment, which is so sweet. I think it speaks volumes!

Have a happy Monday, and thanks for stopping by!

It’s a {Little Paper Shop} Sneak Peek!

lps_blingedouthedgie_tbuThis is Happy Hedgehog, or “Hedgie” as I have affectionately nicknamed mine, lol. He is one of this month’s new releases from {Little Paper Shop}. Cutie Patootie, isn’t he? Today also happens to be the monthly {Little Paper Shop} Design Team challenge, and here is what Jessica dreamed up for us this month:

You guys KNOW I love my bling…so the LPSDT challenge for Feb. is to “Bling it on!” All you have to do is add a little sparkle, glitz and glamour to your fabulous creations! Easy Peasy!

Well, I can do bling. I *love* bling! But for Hedgie, no bling but Shimmerz seemed right.  So I got out my stash and went to work!

lps_blingedouthedgiecloseup_tbu Hedgie himslef is painted with Coffee colored Shimmerz Paint. I used the new Shimmerz Blingz in Flashy Fuchsia to paint his hat, and Hi Ho Silver for the polka dots, as well as the fuzzy ball on the end of the hat and the stripes on his litttle party blower. The streamers are also Flashy Fuchsia.  I got out my Olive Shimmerz Paint to create some Grass, and December Sky for the Sky. I applied that in a round motion, so it looks like a sky, with some clouds. On the sentiment panel, I used Angel Wings Shimmerz Blingz to just put a light coat over it. You can clearly see the sentiment, “Surprise” stamped under it in Memento Tuxedo Black.

My card base is Purely Pomegranate (SU). My large panel is some awesome corrugated paper that ahs a golden brassy sheen to it – it was a RAK from a friend. My brads are all sparkly – they are Spare Parts brads from Hobby Lobby. To finish it off, I tied some light pink organdy ribbon edged in gold around the top. I’m pretty pleased with this one – you should see how it shines irl!!!

Be sure to stop by the {Little Paper Shop} blog to check out other creations by the talented ladies on the DT!
