Geisha Anya and a Unity Challenge

usc-usc20peterpan_tbuHere is one of the bokmarks I made for today’s Untiy Addicts Challenge. The challenge was to make a bookmark based on a favorite book from when you were a child, or now. Well, my munchkin and I watched Peter Pan today, and it remind me of how very much I love J.M. Barrie’s original Peter Pan. So…here’s the super simple version! I chose my colors based on Peter’s outfit – the light and dark green, and the red for the fetaher in his cap. I stamped the flourish from Growing In Unity and then outlined it with my Sakura gelly roll pen. I chose to put the word “time” at the bottom because I think that is a central them to the book, lol. The stitches are from Wendy sewing his shadows back on. Thanks for the great challenge, Maria – I have needed to replenish my book mark stash! Feel free to play along – check this thread over on SCS to find where to post your creations!

tgf_mttsc6geishaanya_tnuNext I just have to share Geisha Anya in Yellow with you! My sketch is based on Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesday sketch – I know that means I should have posted this yesterday, but it was only in my head – not on paper, lol! Geisha Anya is a digistamp available at The Greeting Farm (formerly Pink Poison) – isn’t she just adorable!!??!?! Well, I love her because I love all things asian! I took my color scheme from the Prima Eire dp.

mttsc6So my base is Garden Green, my next panel is More Mustard, and my next Panel is Cranberry Crisp. Madelynn didn’t say the card was supposed to be square, but I’m sure she understands that some of us just have to tweak things a bit – I was in the mood for square! I ticket punched several corners, and added green dew drops to them – to follow the rules of the sketch. I also added ribbon down the right side (it is dark green, I promise!) and a Prima centered with a whole bunch f green dew drops. I really really really love dew drops!!

Thanks Madelyn, for yet another week of awesome inspiration – you rock girlie! I’m so happy your mom chose me to be part of this fun team of ladies who get to participate in your sketch every week! If anyone else out there would like to play along, we have a group over at Papercraft Planet – please feel free to join us, and have some fun chatting and playing with sketches!

If you upload you card to SCS or PPC, please use the keyword MTTSC6, so we can find your awesome work to drool over it! Have a Happy Wednesday!

Ahhh….the good life!

pps_tasseltub_tbuThis week’s Pink Papery Studio’s challenge:

Our challenge this week comes from Shelly and is the “Mix It Up!” challenge.  She wants us to use up the scraps that we all have!  Create a card using at least 2 OR MORE decorative paper scraps!

So to my scrap bin I went. And it is HUGE, lol. I was lucky enough to find two dp’s that were both triangles, and happened to be the right size I need – woohoo! I adhered them to my River Rock panel, and then handstitched up the middle with pink thread. At the top, on my sentiment, I used my cropadile to set teh eyelet and then threaded the tasssel through. I LOVE IT!! Looks just like where the showerhead should be! Over on the right side, I added some hot pink Dew Drops. And ro put a little more zing on this one, I added Crystal Effects to the bubbles and the water on the floor. My image is colored with Copic markers, and the tub is purple becuase my three year old said it should be!

Don’t forget to use the links on the right of my blog to checkout the other DT members’ creations!

Also be sure to check back later today — I’ll have more posts and some challenges for you!!!

Pink Papery Studios Wednesday – Keep It Simple!

pps_simplybelieve_tbuSo this week’s challenge at Pink Papery was simple. Seriously – here it is:

DECEMBER 24, 2008
This week’s challenge comes from Cassie. It’s the day before Christmas so my challenge to you is to create something SIMPLE! It should not stress you out! Create a SIMPLE card! If it’s too much – then take the week off!! No worries!!….

See, I meant it! So I created this card, with the Simply Pray set. I figured – who can’t accomplish this at this particular time of year? Everyone believes in miracles around the holidays, right?  I left the card super simple – no embellies (ok, well one little teensy spiral clip) I colored my praying woman with copics and cut her out, adhered her to Confeti White cardstock, and paper pierced around the edges. I distressed my sentiment panels, and added the dove in the left corner. And that’s about it! My cardstock colors are Cameo Coral and Apricot Appeal, and my dp is by Fancy Pants. If you are traveling today, be safe. Mind the weather, stay warm, and be careful! Please, everyone – enjoy the holidays – and remember what they are all about. Togetherness. And giving.

Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesday

pps_mttsc2_tbuHere it is! This week’s sketch by Madelynn – isn’t it creative? When I first saw it I panicked – what was this girl trying to do to me, lol??? Triangles? Criss-cross stuff? Aaaack! But then I calmed down (after some deep breathing and a few chocolate covered cherries) and came up with this. I did flip the skecth so it was a horizontal card rather than a vertical one, which worked bettter with this Simply Cocoa image from Pink Papery Studios. mttsc2-sketch

I colored my image with Copics (I’m soooo happy I finally started my collection of these – have I mentioned that before?) and cut it out. She is mounted on dimensionals on the main panel, which is also mounted on dimensionals. And yes, that is a bottle cap you see there. When was the last time you used one of those? I have tons of them in my stash and figured, why not? So I punched out a circle of the Basic Grey Mellow dp, stuck it on there, and put it on the card!

I did switch up the sentiment a bit, because my main panel was so long, I used a word from the Simply Bath set, because I think there is nothing more relaxing than curling up in a chair with a cup of hot cocoa or hot tea! So, it made sense to me!

Thanks for the sketch, Madelynn – you did a great job, and I can’t wait to see next week’s!

Hi Friend!!!

pps_mttsc1_tbuA quick post this evening, because I’ve been super busy today. So much to do before Christmas!  There are several super exciting things about this card!

First, it is my very first card using digi stamps from Pink Papery Studios! I love them! This set is called My Friend & I and it is from the Trafalgarssquare line.  And let me tell you what — there is not one set in that line that I don’t *HAVE* to own!!!! They are so cute!!!

The second reason this card is exciting is because it is my first card for Madelynn’s Twinkling Tuesdays sketch challenges. My dear friend Jessica’s super creative daughter has started drawing us sketches each week (obviously, I’m behind) — what a talent she is! The original post about it is here, on Jessica’s blog.

And the third reason I’m excited about this card is because I got to use some of my NEW Copics on it!! I’m telling y’all – I love these markers. Is it possible to be in love with markers? I hope so, because I truly am 🙂

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day – I’m off to wrap some presents!
