A Little Chocolate Snowman

I admit it – I am head over heels in love with this snowman! He just looks so sweet, and inviting, and I totally want to hug him, lol. I’m actually in love with the whole darn set, to tell you the truth. It is SO cute. It’s called Build a Snowman, and it’s available through Queen Kat Designs.

I made this card for the Color Combo challenge on Splitcoast last week. And let me just say, I love this color combo! I paired it with some DCWV Once Upon a Time cardstock, from the mat pack I got at AC Moore. I love the hint of shimmery green it has!

Funky Friends, and Blog Candy!!!

So, check it out! How fun is this card? I loooove it! I’m not sure what my favorite thing about it is – maybe the fun dp, maybe the adorable funky tree, or maybe it is the brand-spankin’-new sentiment I got in the mail today. That’s right – my November Take 3 Club stamps arrived today from Queen Kat Designs, and they could not be sweeter! I knew I’d combine the Funky Trees set with this sentiment. I can’t show you all of the images in the November Take 3 Club yet, but I don’t think I’m breaking any rules by showing you a sneak peek, lol.

Now, on to the blog candy (I know you are really only excited about that part!). Here’s the rules: click on over to the Queen Kat Designs store, snoop around for a little bit, and tell me what your favorite set is. She’s got some super cute ones over there! Anyway, leave me a comment telling me what your favorite set is (it’s okay if you cheat and have more than one – my wishlist is a mile long!) by Saturday, October 25th at 9:00 pm EST. I’ll draw a winner using random.org, and that person will get a $25 shopping spree in the Queen Kat Designs store! Fun, huh?? Have fun drooling, try not to buy too much, and I can’t wait to see what y’all love, too!

Crackled Carriage

I was at AC Moore last weekend, after my brother’s wedding, and happened upon a couple of fun new things. The first fun new product is called Ranger Crackle Accents, and I’m sure everyone on the planet knew about before I did, lol. Basically it does the cracked glass for you – put it on, let it dry, and it crackles itself. Way cool!

So I stamped my carriage on Naturals Ivory paper with Brown Stazon ink, and sponged it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut and Tea Stain. I applied the Crackle Accents, and when it was dry cut it out and put it on my paper with dimensionals.

The dp is DCWV Once Upon A Time – what a lovely collection of paper that is! I highly recommend it 🙂 That was my other fun discovery – a whole mat stack of this collection, and I have so many fun ideas with it!

All of my images are from Queen Kat Designs – links to them are below in my deets 🙂 Have a terrific day!

Weddings and Illnesses

My little brother got married this weekend. And I was a bridesmaid, my husband was a groomsman, and our daughter was the flower girl. Talk about your draining family weekend!!! So the lack of rest has apparently brought back this yucky, funky cold mess that I have. Uuuughhh – misery. Sorry I haven’t posted in a few days!

This card is using one of my new stamps from Queen Kat Designs – it is more of the adorable Build a Snowman set. How darling is it?

I will try to come back a little later and post some details about the card – I’m stuck at my desk feeling all sick and miserable, so I need to try and get some work done!

Copper Carriage

A freind sent me some copper cardstock – and WOWZA! I am in love. How did I not have any until now??? I cuttlebugged it using a new folder, and paired it with this adorable carriage image from Queen Kat Designs. Couldn’t be any easier!

I think this carriage has like a zillion possibilities. Next time, I’m gonna go all girlie on it, and maybe add some bling. It needs some bling, lol. So keep an eye out for that one!

New Stamps!

Loooooook how cute he is!!!!!! I am so in love with this snowman – I love that it is such a good sized image, so I can really make it the focal point. And where did I get this fabulous image, you ask? He’s part of the Build a Snowman set from Queen Kat Designs.

I have to say, I don’t have tons of practice with acrylic stamps. I’ve done a few Inkadinkado clear ones, but no multi step adventures in acrylics, lol. And I LOVE them!! Couldn’t be any easier. And these are some super cute stamps she’s got happening over there, I’m telling you 🙂

My base is River Rock, and my layers are Soft Sky and Mellow Moss. I threw on a little Basic Black for contrast with the Basic Grey Figgy Pudding dp. I stamped the snowman in versafine Black ink, and watercolored it using Soft Sky, Old Olive, and Basic Gray ink.

My brads are black sparkly ones, and the light did not capture the sparkle well. I tied two pieces of white grosgrain ribbon on there to finish it up, and have been staring at him ever since — I’m just toally in love!

And by the way, there is a blinking button on the right side of my blog – click on it and use my code – TU10 to save 10% on your orders from Queen Kat Designs! I’m such an enabler, lol!
