Etsy Sunday (yes, I’m a day late)

Etsy_Fairy_tbuI didn’t get a chance to post my Etsy card yesterday, because I was out of town all da. I had lunch with my mom, and then went to see my mother-in-law in the afternoon. So, I’m posting it today. My card is based on the sweeest little ballerina fairy from this weeks’ shop, I used the colors in it to inspire my card – it’s kind of a stretch, but somethimes my imagination leads me astray, lol.il_430xN.53240124

See – isn’t she just the most darling thing? She seems so carefree and happy. I am seriously thinking about ordering on for my daughter’s room – it has the perfect shade of green in it! I used a Stampin’ Up st I forgot I had on my card, and am so thrilled I found it in the drawer! The fairies wings are painted with Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz, and everything else is colord with Copics.

I sponged around the edges with Pale Plum ink and added the sentiment in the oval punches to the top. It took me a little while to decide on the placement of that, but in the end I chose front and center!

Have a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY everyone!

etsy_cozyhouse_tbu Here is my Esty inspired card for today. I took my color scheme from my new friend Maggie, the Sydocian. What is a Sydocian, you ask?

What’s a Sydocian? They are the inhabitants from planet Sydocia! Never heard of Sydocia? Well, neither had we until their spacecraft landed in our backyard one night… and before we knew it, our home was full of little, furry Sydocians.

I think these are the cutest little critters! I’ve never seen anything like these, and I want to get a few to start a collection for my daughter, lol.

il_430xn62462229This is Maggie, herself. Here;s a little background info on her:

And what makes Maggie different from everyone else? She likes to dress up as a pirate on Saturday nights.

Bwaahahahahahahaha – how cute is that? Ok, seriously – the card. I used gold brads on mine to mimic her eyes, and like I said earlier took my color scheme from her hair. What a fun store this was this week! I’m so glad I got to know the Sydocians!

Sweet Chicks

etsy_040409_tbuIt’s time for another Etsy Inspired card! I love these challenges because there are so many wonderful Etsy stores out there, and I’d never find all of these on my own,  just browsing. This week’s store is LaurenAlexander and it is full of adorable things! She uses so much color, and it is all so perfect together – wow! What a talent! Ok, on to the details, lol. Enough rambling!

il_430xn62479790My card (pictured above at right) is based n this little picture she did, called Better Together. I watercolored the background and hand drew the lines. My little birdies are from the Lizzie Anne Designs set So Much Love. They are stamped on the background, and then cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

I hope everyone has a terrific Saturday! If you have time, check out what the rest of the DT did too!

Pure and Simple

etsy29_tbuThis the “cleanest” card I have ever made, lol. And the piece that inspired me from this week’s Etsy shop looks nothing like it.  But sometimes, my cards take me in a different direction, kwim? I did color the berries on the tree with a gold gel pen, and added gold grass at the bottom.I did the same thing inside the card.

Who knew I had such simplicity in me? I certainly didn’t, lol!

My ink is Cameo Coral, and I used the new Very Versatile set from SU.  I knew I had to have it!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday – check back later for the In Style Stamps blog hop!!!!

An Etsy Inspired Saturday

sunnybirthday1This week’s Etsy shop was TR Mack Studio whhich is full of excellent prints. They all have such brilliant colors and movement to them! My choice was easy though, because I had alread picked this card out for my stepmom’s birthday (the paper, I mean).

So away I went with the Lizzie Anne Damask set, lots of colored pens, Red Riding Hood ink, and a sponge. I don’t know that I captured the spirit of my inspiration piece – but this sure was a fun card to make!

Be sure to check out the other girls’ blogs for their awesome inspiration – the eaasiet place for the list is here, at Heart HugsDesigns. Inspired by Etsy

etsy1This card represent several first for me! It is my fist challenge as a Gust DT Member for the Etsy Inspired Eight *YAY*!!! Second, it is my first card with all rub0ns – no stamps at all! And last, but certainly not least —— it is the first card I have edited and published with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac. *jumping up and down*! I have not figured out the watermark thing, but I will prevail!

My inspiration came from this gorgeous wall decoration! My rubons are by prima, and my two cardstock colors are Basic Blacck and Riding Hood Red. To mimc the effect of the lighting in the picture, I sponged the corners.

So – how did I do with my card full of firsts?
