Cute Little Hang Dog

I made this little quickie on Monday – I’m so slow with the uploads! DD really wanted to sit in my lap, so I knew whatever I made was going to have to be fast and easy, so we could get to the important stuff — playtime and stories.

I started this card with Jeanne S’s JBWW challenge for the week in mind. The challenge was to use a cute critter on your card. Well, I love this little puppy, but never use him. He is a $1 stamp from Michael’s. I recently picked up the other image, also a $1 stamp, and thought it would look cute hanging down from the bone. It says *Hang in There*. It really amuses me!

My card base is Chocolate Chip, and the dp is DCWV Far East. I sponged some Close to Cocoa ink on it. The mat for the Naturals White panel that the puppy is mounted on (and stamped on as well) is also from the Far East mat pack. It has Chocolate Chip ink dtp’d around the edges and sponged it on the panel. To color the puppy, I first stamped him in Timber Brown Stazon. Then I used Julie’s (reneejul1) fun new tutorial for coloring with SU Markers. She recommends watercolor paper, which I don’t have, so the effect isn’t perfect — but it still turned out well!

Ok, back to planning my stamp room redo!
