…is hands down my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folder. I love it! I don’t know what took me so long to bring myself around to purchasing it, but I’m glad I finally did!

I used Sketch Challenge #36 , posted last week, from Lizzie Anne Designs. The extra twist was to use windows where the squares were located. I love an extra twist! The card is pretty simple and straightforward. I did discover that my square punches need to be sharpened, so that is good I guess! Each of the flowers is stamped once on the Pumpkin Pie paper and then again on Confetti Cream. I colored them with SU Markers, cut them out, and popped them up on dimensionals.

I had this lightbulb moment at work today. Well, it is really all Cambria’s fault (it’s never my fault, lol)! I was taking a sanity break and checking out the fabulous creations that the LAD Design Team members have been sharing for the Summer Release Sneak Peeks. And she made a pink robot – a pink robot!!!! So that got me thinking - if robots can be girlie, why can’t superheroes?

I came home and got to stamping! The body of my little cutie is the new Super Hero stamp. The head is from the cowgirl in the new Giddyup set. Yes, it was a little bizarre to see just a head with braids hanging out on my stamp table for a few minutes, but these are the hazards of a crazy mind! I used the sketch from the Sketch Challenge over on SCS. I love how simple and easy it is. Perfect for a fried mind at the end of a crazy busy 4 day work week!

With my latest All That Scraps order I finally got the Swiss Dots embossing folder and some Dew Drops. Why have I lived without this stuff for so long??? I should have bought these looong ago!

Card deets:

Another day, another sneak peek from the Lizzie Anne Designs Summer Releases! The first card I am showing you is from the fabulous holiday set called…Holiday Lane! It has the sweetest little builings you have ever seen - a cottage, a church, a shoppe, and another sweet little house. There is a picket fence and a stone fence, a stone walkway….everything you need for a perfect winter scene!! Can you tell I am over the moon about this set??!! And I love the sentiments - the sentiments on this one are wonderful! I used Basic Grey Figgy Pudding dp for my card, and watercolored my images on non SU paper. The stone fences, large tree, and snowman are all stamped separately, cut out, and adhered to the image panel. Across the bottom and top of the dp panels I stitched some red and green thread. And yes, that is Liquid Applique you see on the roof, under the snowman, and under the tree. I love that stuff!

My second card is this super adorable little Super Hero single. Well, he actually does double duty - he can be purchased as a single or as part of the new Little people set - it will have the Cowboy, the Ballerina, the (new) Witch, the Pirate, and this Super Hero and his sentiment. HOW CUTE IS HE????? A little background: my husband loves the Justice League and he and our daughter watch the cartoons all the time on DVD. So she is totally hooked - I mean totally. I knew as soon as I saw this that they would both love the image - and let me tell you she went nuts when she saw it tonight. I made this card for her to give to her dad when he gets back from his weeklong trip on Friday night. So again, i made an effort to keep it simple and not girlie it up. My new SU In Colors finally came today, so of course I had to break them out for the card! The dp is Basic Grey Mellow, and I thought the cloudy sky was perfect with this stamp.

Today Lizzie Anne Designs is going to let you peek at one new set, and three new singles, as part of their Summer Release Sneak Peek! I am going to show you two cards, one from the set and one of the singles.

The first card is from the new Happy Harvest set. How adorable is this scarecrow?!?!?!?! The set also has a darling basket of apples and a fabulous pumpkin image! But I’m saving those cards for this weekend, I think! My dp is by Prima, and I thought it was perfect with this set. I stamped the cute swirl up the left side of the dp with brown Stazon. The sunflowers are cutout and added to the oval (I used my new Nestabilities to make the ovals - if you don’t have any yet, you need some!!). The flowers and my scarecrow were stamped in Brown Stazon and watercolored using ink and an aquapainter. His hat is actually done twice, for a little more depth on the card.

 My second card is previewing the new Happy Halloween single - too fun! I used the Spooked set to make a little row of houses across the bottom, and stamped the new sentiment above them in Versafine Black ink. I cut out some bats and added them (confession — I only did that because I accidentally stuck my finger in the ink and then smudged the card!!), and added the spider at the top (more confessions — when I stamped the spider on there I didn’t like the way his “string” looked - I didn’t quite stamp it right). I stitched his little ”drop string” with black thread…it is too cute irl! I put jumbo black brads on either side of the sentiment and threaded some orange polka dotted orgnady ribbon through them. it is so great for Halloween cards! I got it from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. DD insisted I add the tiny little epoxy sticker with the black cat on it. It’s from her stash of goodies, and we were having “together” crafting time when I made this (hence all my goofs I had to fix on this card!!). Turns out I really like the little sticker on there!
